Ed ...Who.....?

about meEd Baumgarten spent the first half of his life as a registered general and electrical contractor designing and building residential and commercial structures in Central Illinois.  Bringing to the table,  artistic sensibility with production mentality using visualization technology. Ed also developed one of the earliest web sites providing 3D models to the film and software industry, providing 3D models to companies like Metacreations, Fractal Designs, Daz and Corel. Ed's 3D models have been used by NASA, CDC and several Dept. of Defense subcontractors, as well as thousands of 3D Artists.

Ed has spent the last decade as the photographer and driver of imaging for Mid America Motorworks, the world's leading supplier of aftermarket parts and accessories for Corvette. Bringing that same artistic sensibility and production mentality with him. Shooting full time for Mid America, Ed has developed one of the most comprehensive image libraries for Mid America of the Corvette breed and continues to deliver imaging for catalog and website production of cars, apparel, hard parts, event, ads and PR as well as interactive media.
Ed's work for Mid America has been published in countless catalogs, magazines and trade pubs.

Every other minute of the day, Ed shoots for his own business, Ed Baumgarten Photography. Providing portraiture, event and commercial imaging as well as still life captures of the world around him. Family, child and high school senior portraiture all benefit from Ed's unique perspective from the commercial photography world, bringing something unique and different to every shoot.  Ed also covers local events and does light commercial shooting, helping local businesses promote their trades. A 'Midwest Life' section of the website displays and makes available Ed's unique vision of downstate Illinois, it's craft and culture, to all.

Ed is also a contributing author for the Illinois Office of Tourism, photographing and crafting articles to help promote tourism in Central Illinois, some of which can be seen at enjoyillinoisblog.com
